XIMENA HEASMAN CERAMICS
I’m Ximena Heasman, a Colombian/British ceramic artist, designer and educator based in Forest Row, Sussex.
Before working with clay, I trained and worked as a product and industrial designer. Along the way I realised we don’t need more things that lack soul or ethical principles, so I decided to spend my time designing and making objects that have a soul, using my own hands.
Today I make functional tableware alongside one-off decorative and sculptural pieces. My work is sold at The Bazaar in Forest Row, through my online shop, and at a number of fairs and exhibitions I take part in each year. Do check my events page for upcoming dates.

WORKSHOPS
I am passionate about ceramics and teaching.
I like sharing my passion for clay with young people and adults. I strongly believe in the healing and therapeutic power of clay. I am the clay modelling and pottery teacher at Michael Hall Steiner School in Forest Row. I teach an evening class at Hillside pottery school in Forest Row and I hold classes in my studio where I also develop my own designs and creations. I love seeing the smiles and the motivation when people leave the studio after a clay session. Clay makes people happier.
